Valve Lookup Terms of Use

Effective date: October 17, 2026

1. Definitions, scope and assent

"Company," "we" and "us" mean Appalachian Integrity LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. "App" means Valve Lookup, the offline valve reference app covered by these terms, including a version distributed through an app store. "Store" means Google Play, Apple's App Store or another authorized app-distribution platform through which you obtain the App. "Website" means appalachianintegrity.com, the Company's own website, where the Company sells Licence Keys. "Licence Key" means a key the Company issues and emails to a buyer, which unlocks the full reference catalogue and features of the App on that buyer's device. "You" means the person who downloads, installs or uses the App and, where a Licence Key has been bought for your use, the person who bought it. "Standard" means the valve dimensional or pressure-temperature standard identified in the App for the particular data shown.

These terms cover only the App and the Licence Key. They do not cover Appalachian Integrity's website generally, inspection or engineering-documentation services, or another Weldbook AI family product. Those products and services have separate terms.

Before first use, the App presents these terms and asks you to affirmatively agree to them. By selecting "I Agree to the Terms," you confirm that you had an opportunity to read and retain these terms. A separate control asks whether you consent to conduct this transaction and receive these terms electronically. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The App is a free download from the Store. A Licence Key is bought from the Company on the Website, not from the Store, and no purchase happens inside the App. Section 4 covers limited free access, an existing trial from an earlier version, the Licence Key, its price and refunds.

2. What the App is and is not

The App is a reference tool. It presents valve face-to-face and centre-to-face dimensions, ASME B16.34 pressure-temperature ratings and valve body, trim and seat material references compiled from identified public manufacturer and distributor sources. The App identifies the standard scope and source basis applicable to each dataset. Some values are published by a manufacturer for its own valve pattern rather than set by a standard's table; where that is so, the App names the source the values were compiled from.

The App is not an engineering service, inspection or certification, and it does not replace a licensed engineer's judgment. The Company does not provide engineering services through the App. John Wright, the App's owner, is not a licensed professional engineer under Chapter 4 of Title 54.1 of the Code of Virginia or a comparable law of another state.

REFERENCE VALUES REQUIRE INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION.

Every value in the App is for reference only. Before relying on a dimension, rating or other value, you must verify it against the current edition of the standard, project specification, manufacturer data sheet and other authority that actually govern your work. Do not use an App value as the sole basis for a design, purchase, fabrication, installation or inspection decision.

You remain responsible for the professional judgment, qualifications, code edition, specifications and independent checks required for your work. Neither limited free access, an existing trial nor a Licence Key makes a value certified, current or suitable for a particular job. If you copy a value into a report, drawing, purchase order, work instruction or other work product, you must independently verify it before that work product is issued or used.

Standards, manufacturer catalogues and other public source materials change. A value that was correct under one edition or source can differ under another. The App does not know which edition, specification or valve pattern your job requires.

3. No affiliation with standards organizations

The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or licensed by ASME (the American Society of Mechanical Engineers), API (the American Petroleum Institute), ISA (the International Society of Automation) or any manufacturer or distributor named in the App's source list.

"ASME," "B16.10," "B16.34," "API," "6D," "600," "602," "608," "609," "594," "ISA," "75.08.01," "ISO 5752" and "EN 558" are used only to identify standards or source scope, not to claim a relationship with or approval by those organizations, and a manufacturer or distributor name in the App's source list identifies only where a public value was compiled from. No standards text, notes or figures are reproduced in the App. The values shown are compiled from identified public sources rather than copied from the standards themselves.

4. Limited free access, existing trials, licence key, purchase and refunds

The App is a free download. This version provides selected valve-dimension lookups without a time limit and identifies the available free sizes and patterns in the App. The free selection is limited; other reference data and features require a valid Licence Key, except while an existing trial described below remains active. A new installation of this version does not start a timed trial. Your unit preference and other local settings stay on the device.

If you update an earlier version with an existing fourteen-day trial record on this device, the update preserves the original trial start and end dates. You can continue using the full App for the remainder of that trial, subject to its existing device-clock checks. Updating does not restart or extend the trial. When the original trial ends, the selected free lookups remain available and you may enter a Licence Key for full access. A new installation or a reinstall without that existing local record starts with limited free access rather than a new trial. The existing trial record is measured on your device, without an account or a network connection.

Licence Keys are sold by the Company on the Website, not by the Store. The price shown at checkout is a one-time charge for the Licence Key. It is not a subscription and does not automatically renew. The App contains no purchase flow, no paid add-ons and no advertising. The Company may offer other prices, bundles, promotional codes or discounts from time to time; the price shown at checkout for your own purchase is the price that applies to it, and a later price change creates no additional charge for a purchase already completed.

Checkout on the Website is handled by the Company's payment processor, Stripe, which collects and processes card data under its own terms. The Company does not receive your full payment-card number. For each purchase the Company receives and keeps a licence record: the email address you give at checkout, the amount, currency and date of the order, the processor's transaction identifier, and the serial and issue date of the Licence Key issued to you. The Company keeps that record so it can deliver the key, re-send it if you ask, and support it. The Privacy Policy describes this record and how long it is kept.

The Company emails the Licence Key to the address you give at checkout, and the Website also shows it to you once the purchase completes. If you lose the key, you can have every key on file for your address sent again from the Website's re-send page, or email the contact address in section 14.

Subject to these terms, a Licence Key gives you a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, paid-up licence to install and use the App on the devices you own or control, for personal or internal professional or business reference. A Licence Key is issued for your own devices: you may not share, resell, publish, sublicense or otherwise distribute it, and you may not use a Licence Key that was not issued to you. The licence does not transfer ownership and does not permit you to redistribute, resell, sublicense or extract a material part of the App's compilation as a competing product or dataset.

The App checks a Licence Key on your device, offline. The App does not transmit the key to the Company, the Store or anyone else. It stores the key on the device you entered it on, and uninstalling the App or clearing its storage removes that stored copy.

You may ask for a refund within fourteen days of your purchase by emailing the contact address in section 14 from the address you bought with, or telling us that address. The Company will refund the purchase when you make that request within the fourteen-day period. The Company will also refund the purchase if the App or the Licence Key does not work on a compatible device and the Company cannot fix it. Nothing in these terms limits a refund, cancellation or other remedy that applicable law gives you. Because the Store does not sell the Licence Key, a Store refund policy does not apply to it; a Store's own rules continue to govern the free download itself.

We may offer updates, but do not promise an update schedule, indefinite compatibility with future devices or operating systems, or a particular support-response time. Future downloads and reinstalls depend on Store availability and compatible devices.

5. Acceptable use

You will not:

  1. Use the App for an unlawful purpose;
  2. Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent a law that cannot be waived permits it;
  3. Circumvent, disable or tamper with the limits of free access, an existing trial, the Licence Key check or another technical measure in the App;
  4. Share, resell, publish or sublicense a Licence Key, or use a Licence Key that was not issued to you;
  5. Copy, resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the App or its data as a competing product or dataset;
  6. Remove or alter a copyright, trademark, source or attribution notice;
  7. Interfere with the App's operation or another person's lawful use; or
  8. Misrepresent an affiliation with the Company, ASME, API, ISA or another organization.

6. Intellectual property

The App's software, design, arrangement of data, user interface and written content belong to the Company or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws.

Underlying dimensional facts such as sizes, face-to-face dimensions, pressures and temperatures are public facts. The Company claims protection in its compilation, arrangement, wording and presentation, not ownership of the underlying facts or standards.

7. No warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS."

To the extent the law allows, the Company disclaims express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty that the App or its data is accurate, complete, current, error-free or suitable for the edition, specification or decision that governs your work.

The Company does not warrant uninterrupted operation, future compatibility, continued Store or Website availability, a particular update cadence or support-response time. A disclaimer in this section does not override a specific written promise the Company makes in the Store listing or on the Website, the refund commitment in section 4, or a right that applicable law does not allow the Company to disclaim.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the Company is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from the App, including damages arising from a decision made using an App value.

For claims that may lawfully be limited, the Company's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you actually paid the Company for the App and any Licence Key and one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Each exclusion and limitation in this section is independent. To the extent the law allows, an exclusion of consequential or incidental damages remains effective even if another limited remedy fails of its essential purpose.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company's negligence, fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, a non-waivable refund or consumer right, or another liability that the law does not allow to be limited or excluded.

9. No third-party rights

These terms are between the Company and you. They do not create a contractual right in another person. This section does not limit a right that law independently gives a third party.

10. Changes

Changes to these terms apply prospectively and do not change the terms governing a claim that accrued before the new version took effect. A material change will be presented in full and will require affirmative acceptance before you use an updated version or new feature governed by it. A price change applies only to future purchases. The limited free access model does not revoke a Licence Key already issued or shorten an existing trial preserved under section 4.

If you decline changed terms, the version you previously accepted continues to govern the copy you already acquired to the extent continued use remains technically and legally available, and a Licence Key you already hold remains valid. The Company may withdraw an unsafe, unlawful or Store-prohibited version, and will refund a Licence Key purchase where section 4 or applicable law requires it.

11. Termination, discontinuation and support

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling also removes the Licence Key and any existing trial record stored on that device.

The Company may terminate your licence for a material breach of these terms, including sharing, reselling or publishing a Licence Key or circumventing the limits of free access, an existing trial or the Licence Key check, after notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure when practicable, or immediately when continued distribution or use would violate law, a court order or a mandatory Store requirement.

The Company may stop selling Licence Keys, stop offering the App and stop issuing updates or support. Doing so does not by itself revoke the paid-up licence carried by a Licence Key already issued, but future downloads, reinstalls, key re-sends and compatibility remain subject to the Store, the Website and the device platform.

12. Governing law and venue

Virginia law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that it does not displace a mandatory protection of another jurisdiction that applies to you.

Unless mandatory law or an eligible small-claims procedure requires another forum, a dispute arising from these terms may be brought in the state courts serving Craig County, Virginia, or, where federal jurisdiction exists, the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

13. Your own document (optional feature)

Some versions of the App include an optional feature that lets you import your own licensed copy of the governing standard so the App can show its values, on your device, instead of the public-source values. Check the About tab in your installed version of the App to see whether this feature is present. Where it is not present, this section does not apply. Where it is present:

  1. Valve Lookup does not include, and has never included, a copy or excerpt of any published standard. If you use the import feature, you are using your own licensed copy, on your own device, under the licence you hold. You confirm that you have that licence or that your employer has authorized you to use it on this device, and that your use complies with it.
  2. The import is for your personal reference on this device only. You may not share, copy out, export, print, publish, or otherwise distribute the imported numbers or any part of your copy. The app has no feature to do so, and you agree not to try.
  3. The import reads your file on your device and keeps only the numbers it can find. It does not keep the file, page images, text, notes or figures. It does not train any artificial-intelligence model. It does not send anything off your device.
  4. The app opens only files that open normally. It will refuse a file that needs a password, a file protected by a DRM plug-in, or a file whose permissions do not allow copying. It does not remove or bypass any protection.
  5. The imported numbers replace the app's public-source values only on your device. They are yours to check against your own document. Appalachian Integrity LLC does not verify them and does not warrant that the parser read your copy correctly. The app remains a reference tool; you remain responsible for confirming any value before you rely on it.
  6. You can delete the imported numbers at any time from the "Load your own licensed document" card on the About tab. Uninstalling the app also removes them. Appalachian Integrity LLC never has them.
  7. Appalachian Integrity LLC is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any standards organization, and neither is this feature.
