Valve Lookup Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026

1. Data sent by the App

Valve Lookup is designed to operate offline. The App does not require an Appalachian Integrity account and does not transmit your searches, viewed values, app activity, free or full access status, any existing trial status, licence key or the settings described below to Appalachian Integrity LLC (the Company). The Android app declares no INTERNET permission and contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party crash-reporting SDK.

This section concerns data transmitted by the App, which is none. Buying a licence key happens on the Company's website rather than in the App, and Google Play separately processes store, account, device and usage information under Google's terms and privacy policy. Both are described in § 5.

2. Information stored on the device

The App stores these items in local app storage:

  1. Your unit preference (inch and psi, or millimetre and bar), so the tables use the units you last selected;
  2. A version-specific record that you accepted the first-run terms and reference-only notice, so the same version is not shown on every launch;
  3. If you update an earlier version with an existing fourteen-day trial record, that trial's original start date and last-opened date, so the App can preserve and check the remaining trial period. New installations of this version do not start or store a new timed trial;
  4. Your licence key, once you enter one, so the App stays unlocked on that device; and
  5. If your installed version includes the optional document-import feature described in § 3 and you use it, the numbers it reads from your own file.

The App does not send these values to the Company, and the Company cannot access them. The App checks your licence key on the device, offline, against a public key built into the App, and never transmits the key. The Android release is configured to exclude app data from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Device operating systems, manufacturers and backup services may apply their own settings and policies.

Clearing the App's storage removes the active local copy on that device, including the stored licence key and any existing trial record, and returns the App to its first-run state. You can enter your licence key again on that device.

3. Optional document import

Some versions of the App include an optional feature that lets you import your own licensed copy of the governing standard. Check the About tab in your installed version to see whether this feature is present. Where it is not present, the App has no document-import feature and the rest of this section does not apply. Where it is present: if you choose to import a copy of the governing standard you own, the app opens the file you pick with the device's own file picker, reads it on your device, and stores the numbers it finds in the app's private storage on that device. The app does not keep the file, does not upload or transmit it or the numbers, does not share them with us or anyone, and does not use them for analytics, advertising or training of any kind. We never receive them. You can delete the imported numbers from the "Load your own licensed document" card on the About tab, and uninstalling the app deletes them. The app's content-security policy allows no network connections other than loading its own files.

4. No app analytics, ads or tracking

The App makes no calls to the Company or another party. It loads its operating content from files bundled with the App. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK and does not use an advertising identifier.

5. Purchases on our website and Store information

When you buy a licence key, you buy it from the Company on appalachianintegrity.com, not through an app store, and not inside the App. You give an email address at checkout. Checkout is handled by the Company's payment processor, Stripe, which collects and processes your payment-card data under its own terms and privacy policy. The Company does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

For each purchase the Company receives and keeps a licence record: the email address you gave at checkout, the amount, currency and date of the order, Stripe's transaction identifier, and the serial and issue date of the licence key issued to you. The Company uses that record only to issue and email your key, show it to you on the success page, send it again when you ask, answer support about it, handle a refund or chargeback, prevent fraud, and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires. The Company does not sell this information, use it for targeted advertising or create advertising profiles from it.

The Company uses the email address you give at checkout to deliver or re-send your key and to answer support and refund questions about it. It does not add you to a marketing list. The key re-send page on the website takes an email address and sends every key on file for that address; it answers the same way whether or not any key is on file, so it cannot be used to find out whether an address bought a key.

To prevent automated abuse of the purchase and key re-send forms, the Website processes the request IP address into a one-way, deployment-specific HMAC-SHA-256 rate-limit bucket with an hourly window. It does not store the raw IP address in this licence database. Rate-limit buckets older than seven days are removed during normal requests.

The Company keeps a licence record for as long as the key may need support. A licence key does not expire, so that record lasts as long as the Company issues or supports licence keys for the App, and order and refund records are kept for as long as tax, accounting, refund, chargeback, fraud-prevention or other legal obligations require. Stripe retains the information it controls under its own policies. Access to the licence and payment records is limited to authorized Company users, and exported records must be protected according to Company policy.

The App itself is a free download, and no purchase happens through an app store. Google Play distributes the App and processes store, account, device and usage information under Google's terms and privacy policy. Google may make aggregated install, uninstall, performance, crash, rating, review and other store statistics available to the Company, and the Company uses them only to understand how the App is downloaded and whether it runs correctly. A public Google Play review is visible under Google's rules and may display the name or profile information associated with your Google account.

If you email the Company, it receives your email address, message and any information or attachment you choose to include.

6. Children

Valve Lookup is intended for industrial and professional reference and is not directed to children under 13. The App itself does not ask for or transmit personal information, and a licence-key purchase asks only for an email address. The Company does not knowingly collect information from a child through its website. If you believe a child sent information directly to the Company, contact the Company so it can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

7. Your choices

The App creates no Appalachian Integrity account to delete. You can clear local preferences, the acceptance record, any existing trial record, a stored licence key and any imported document numbers through the device's app-storage settings or by removing and reinstalling the App.

You may contact the Company about the licence record it holds for your purchase. The Company will address an applicable access, correction or deletion request after appropriate identity verification, subject to records it must retain for tax, accounting, fraud, refund, chargeback or legal purposes; if the email address in a licence record is deleted, the Company can no longer re-send that key to you. For information held by Stripe or by Google, use their own account and privacy tools or contact them. The Company cannot alter or delete a record they control.

8. Changes to this policy

The Company may update this policy if the App, the website purchase process or Store-data practices change. It will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice through the App, the website, the Play listing or another appropriate channel. A material change to the App's handling of data will be presented in an app update and will require the acceptance process applicable to that version.
