Field Code Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 17, 2026

1. Data sent by the App

Field Code is designed to operate offline. The App does not require an Appalachian Integrity account, has no sign-in of any kind, and does not transmit your searches, viewed cards, loaded documents or app activity to Appalachian Integrity LLC (the Company). The Android app declares no INTERNET permission and requests no other Android permission. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party crash-reporting SDK.

This section concerns data transmitted by the App. Google Play separately processes store, account, transaction, device and usage information under Google's terms and privacy policy, as described in § 5.

2. Information stored on the device

The App stores these items in local app storage:

  1. A version-specific record that you accepted the first-run terms and reference-only notice, so the same version is not shown on every launch; and
  2. If you use the "Your Standard" document feature described in § 3, the text extracted from the file you loaded and the page-number references the App generated from it.

The App does not send these values to the Company, and the Company cannot access them. Device operating systems, manufacturers and backup services may apply their own settings and policies to this local storage.

Clearing the App's storage removes the active local copy on that device and returns the App to its first-run state.

3. Your Standard: the document you load

Field Code includes a feature that lets you load your own PDF, TXT, Markdown or HTML file into the "Your Standard" screen. When you choose a file with the device's own file picker, the App reads it on your device and extracts its text on-device. It stores the extracted text and page-number references in the App's private storage on that device; it does not keep the original file, page images or figures after extraction. The App does not upload or transmit the file or the extracted text, does not share them with the Company or anyone else, and does not use them for analytics, advertising or training of any kind. The Company never receives them. The App does not store or display the loaded file's name or source location — that is intentional, so the App does not identify what document you loaded. You can delete a loaded document's extracted text at any time from the "Your Standard" screen, and uninstalling the App deletes it. The app's content-security policy allows no network connections other than loading its own bundled files.

4. No app analytics, ads or tracking

The App makes no calls to the Company or another party. It loads its operating content, including its 26 answer cards, from files bundled with the App. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK and does not use an advertising identifier.

5. Google Play transactions and Store information

When you obtain, purchase, rate, review or seek support for the App through Google Play, Google processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. Google may make order and sales information available to the Company, including an order identifier, transaction date and status, app or product information, amount, currency, taxes and fees, device model, country and, where available, city, state or postal code. Google's order tools may make a buyer email address available for order lookup or support. The Company does not receive your full payment-card number through the App. Google may also provide aggregated store, install, performance, rating, review and sales information.

The Company uses Store information it controls only to administer purchases, refunds and chargebacks; respond to support; prevent fraud; maintain accounting, tax and legal records; and understand aggregate Store performance. The Company does not sell this information, use it for targeted advertising or create advertising profiles from it.

If you email the Company, it receives your email address, message and any information or attachment you choose to include. A public Google Play review is visible under Google's rules and may display the name or profile information associated with your Google account.

Google retains information it controls under Google's policies. The Company retains a copy it controls only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above and as required for tax, accounting, refund, chargeback, fraud-prevention or legal obligations. Access to Play merchant and financial information is limited to authorized account users, and exported records must be protected according to Company policy.

6. Children

Field Code is intended for industrial and professional reference and is not directed to children under 13. The App itself does not ask for or transmit personal information. Google handles Store purchases under its own policies. If you believe a child sent information directly to the Company, contact the Company so it can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

7. Your choices

The App creates no Appalachian Integrity account to delete. You can clear the acceptance record and any loaded "Your Standard" document through the device's app-storage settings or by removing and reinstalling the App.

For information held in your Google account or controlled by Google, use Google's account and privacy tools or contact Google. You may contact the Company about an order or support record in its control. The Company will address an applicable access, correction or deletion request after appropriate identity verification, subject to records it must retain for tax, accounting, fraud, refund, chargeback or legal purposes. The Company cannot alter or delete a record controlled by Google.

8. Changes to this policy

The Company may update this policy if the App or Store-data practices change. It will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice through the App, the Play listing or another appropriate channel. A material change to the App's handling of data will be presented in an app update and will require the acceptance process applicable to that version.
